You probably already researched about the life of Ms. Catriona Gray, after all, she's no less than the queen of the moment. Miss Philippines is Miss Universe 2018 and we're all very proud of her. What I'd want to share here was our reaction - there was a whole bunch of us, all strangers to each other - that watched and reacted as Catriona's name was being announced.
'Wanna guess where we were?
My husband and I were at the wet market here in Hindang, Leyte when we saw the Miss Universe Pageant being watched by people in a karinderya (eatery). We saw Miss Philippines being announced as one of the top three contenders to the crown. Right after the announcement of the top three, the last Q&A took place.
Of course, we already know what Catriona's answer was and when I heard her talk about the greatest lesson she learned, I knew that she had a strong chance to bring home the crown.
My hubby and I then decided to buy our food supply before going back to buy a kilo of pork chop on the shop right beside the eatery (and, yes, I admit that we also intentionally wanted to find out who the Miss U winner would be).
There were about 10 people in that spot waiting with bated breaths as Steve Harvey already announced Miss Venezuela as the 2nd runner-up. And then it was time to know who the winner was.
When Harvey said, "...Miss Philippines!", everyone in that room screamed in unison. I dunno, the moment felt really crazy. I mean, we don't know each other but we were proud and happy at the same time.
As one Canadian blogger would describe us, beauty pageants are just like 'sports' here in our country. Our day seems to stop when there's a pageant or when Pacquiao is fighting somewhere.
Anyway, I just felt that I needed to share that as, I believe, this was also the same spirit that was felt throughout the nation today.
Once again, Kooltoura 7100 congratulates Ms. Catriona Gray on her win!
P.S. We rescued two stray kittens in the market today. One of them has a gray fur and gray eyes. So, yup, we named her Catriona Gray. It's a pretty long name for a cat and we don't even know if she'll be able to respond to that name but we named her that anyway.
